Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is a cause of cancer that affects both men and women. Usually smoking and cigarettes is a cause of lung cancer. Its a large amount of uncontrolled abnormal cells. They end up not developing into healthy lung tissue. These cells divide rapidly and start to form tumors. The tumor becomes bigger and bigger and the ability for the lungs to provide the blood stream with oxygen start to fail.
Tumors
The more dangerous tumors spread anywhere around the body. The spread through the bloodstream or the lymphatic system. When the tumors form and the disease spreads, its much harder to treat successfully. The size and location of the tumor are important depending on the treatment doctors have to give you.
Symptoms
Early stages of the disease start with a severe frequent cough. Shortness of breath and bleeding through your coughs. Stage two tumors start to grow and spread. Go through a large amount of fatigue. Stage 3 the tumor has spread to the chest wall. Therefore the tumor can be up to any size from 3 cm to 7 cm. At this stage the disease can spread to the blood vessels and infect the blood stream. At stage four the disease has reached its most advanced form. In stage 4 the disease has spread beyond the lungs and to other body areas. Becoming even more dangerous the rate of surviving at this stage is up to a 40%.
Affects on body
You notice a lot of chest pain the closer the tumor is to the chest wall the more pain you have. Have a severe cough and run short on your breath often . Once it spreads to your bones they become more weak. You feel more run down and cant really keep up on your normal activities. You get tired and really sleepy.
Foods
Fruit and vegetable juices are very helpful for the body. Tomatoes, broccoli, and other kinds of vegetables are helpful for your body. Low fat dairy products such as low fat milk. Soups especially broth. Your nutrition needs will probably change as you go through the cancer experience. Also avoid foods that are very hot or very cold. A lot of tea also helps the lungs work better.
