About

Picture
Kerri Eich founded Be Well Gardens to further her impact embedding garden based wellness programs into peoples lives. She believes practical, place-based, experiences where you are able to touch, taste, and try plants is key. Growing and preparing plant-based based meals builds a more intimate connection to food. The foods we consume sets the tone for the environment we create within our body. Plant based diets have been proven to reduce risks of lifestyle disease and prolong the longevity and quality of ones life. My mission, sparked by over 20 years of reshaping students' health habits, is to equips others with skills & knowledge to help them grow and prepare healthy meals. Expanding nutrient rich food choices through whole food experiences.

Kerri has worked with students in Los Angeles public schools for over 20 years and has a deep passion for infusing healthy habits through garden based food experiences. Her students manage garden spaces and learn about health benefits of food through growing and cooking experiences.
Since 2009, Kerri has helped develop over an acre of gardens on the campus she works at with her students. Her students assume responsibility for their outdoor learn-scape. This offers invaluable experiences that transcend the boundaries of a traditional classroom.

She has also spent over a decade leading volunteer work, writing grants and building gardens at her children’s school. Recognizing how this facilitates reshaping one’s perceptions of health and food she has embarked on a journey to create Be Well Gardens as an extension of her mission. In 2020, she initiated her plans to develop an orchard at her property in Sequoia National Forest, where she envisions developing a permaculture training center at Be Well Retreat. Be Well Retreat is a 30+ acre property that is set up for family rentals, small retreats and filming.
